This program shows the Needles Subdivision from Needles and goes as far as West Daggett, which is approximately 10 miles east of Barstow. Although this program has nearly all freights, there is one appearance of Amtrak's Southwest Chief which is interesting as it not only was running 4 to 5 hours late, but a Santa Fe Warbonnet locomotive was on the point instead of the Amtrak power.

The only complaint I have about this program is that the narration is extremely hard to hear as the sound of the locomotives suppresses it, especially for the first two trains in this program. After that, I could hear the narration just slightly better as the background noise was still louder than the narration. But that's because this program was produced in the 1990s so I'm not complaining too loudly on this issue.

Additional remarks by Nikhil Murthy:
Narration: Just enough.
Would kids enjoy this? Maybe.
Image quality: Good.
DVD Value:: Fair.
Recommend to others? Not unless they REALLY were interested in the subject matter.
