Guilfords East Deerfield Rail Yard DVD Click to enlargeNote: Cover image may differ from actual product East Deerfield yards were built in the late 1800's and was the major yard of the Boston & Maine RR. The north-south Connecticut Valley line and the east-west Hoosac Tunnel line both feed into the east and west yards and featured a yard tower, hump yard, ice house and engine house. The B&M would be absorbed into the Guilford Rail Systems in 1983, now Pan Am Rwy. The yards are still active, but only for flat switching and fueling/maintenance activities. A road bridge spans over the west yard throat and is popular with rail fans. The video was shot in the late 1990's and features thru freights, engine house, yard classification and the difficult to access, east yard, where the hump was located.
