Climb aboard a hot Burlington Northern Santa Fe vehicle train for a ride across southeastern Kansas and discover what the route looks like from the perspective of the operating crews! Boarding train V-OKCMCI at the crew change point in Arkansas City, you"ll experience a fascinating journey across the Sunflower state. This important BNSF route connects Kansas City with locations in Texas, the Southwest, and California.

The 225-mile run traverses a portion of the Arkansas City Sub, the entire Douglas Sub, and most of the Emporia Subdivision to Argentine Yard. Fast-paced running and efficient dispatching often result in crews completing the journey in under 5 1/2 hours.

From the train and from trackside you"ll enjoy fantastic views of the rolling prairie under clear October skies. Along the way all types of trains are observed on this busy route including piggybacks, stacks, vehicle, grain, coal, and even Triple Crown roadrailers.

An in-depth look at the busy Flint Hill region near Matfield Green provides extensive coverage of the area. This 16-mile stretch of the Emporia Sub climbs and curves through scenic hills, making it visually interesting but also an operational bottleneck.

So sit back and get ready to enjoy an entertaining ride across America"s heartland - you"re Going to Kansas City!

An excellent production by Pentrex. There was just the right mix of footage from the cab and on the ground. Narration was informative without being intrusive. The cameras caught Burlington Northern, Santa Fe, and BNSF motive power in multiple paint schemes. This is a must have to add to your DVD collection.

One of Pentrex's best. Crystal clear images captured during the fall season. Good cab ride shots, interesting interaction between the operating crew and informative radio transmissions with dispatch. A good mix of cab and ground shots through fields and across a long causeway. Meets are plentiful. The landscape scenery is varied and appealing for Kansas.

This is another fine DVD from Pentrex with excellent image quality and sound. If you like viewing lots of BNSF motive power, you're going to love this DVD! I received this DVD less than three months ago and have watched it several times already... it's that good IMHO. I would recommend this DVD to any railfan and a "Must Have" for all of you BNSF fans out there! It's got plenty of scenic footage and describes things about the landscape in that part of the country that I was not aware of? This is definitely one Pentrex video you'll want to add to your collection!!!

First of all i love a good Cab ride video, and like always Pentrex delivers again!!!!There are shots from the ground and most of all from the cab which makes this video great because Kansas does not have the most scenic scenery ,but it does have good high speed running for freight trains, also good shots of the crew doing their jobs, plenty of meets and just great railroading in the heartland!!!

A excellent movie of the Southeast region of Kansas. There is cab rides along with on ground coverage.
The territory covered tells a good story, giving the railfan the desire to want to travel to the region and see it for one's self. Wish there was a bit more on the area leading into Kansas City, but still rated as one of my top 10 in my collection.

In this recently turned 20 year old program from 2000, the scenery is splendid along the way, as well as a great variety of diesels from the long gone but not forgotten red & silver warbonnets to todays brand new orange & yellow striped wide cabs as well as some appearances by other road names as well as a relaxing cab ride. The theme song in this program was also used on one of Greg Scholls discontinued title: classic cars & trucks.

This one is kinda special to me because it was the first RR video l bought in DVD format. As always with Pentrex, great narration. About 40-50% of the program is a cab ride in BNSF #4365. When this was filmed you could still see lots of pre merger power. A good amount of green BN locos. And even more ATSF warbonnets. Not that big of a deal when the video was released. But quite a sight today considering pre merger power is almost gone from the BNSF.
