The E, the L and the EL

This series provides an in depth look at Erie-Lackawanna Railroad operations in both pre and post merger, including mainline, secondary and branch line coverage

In volume 1, we look at the Erie and Lackawanna railroads between the mid 1940s and the late 1950s in both steam and diesel.

We'll then tour the Erie-Lackawanna from the waterfront at Hoboken and progress along the route of the Lackawanna west to the Paulinskill Viaduct in Hainesburg during the 1960s

The visual material is excellent but one of the narrators has a rough, unpleasant voice and very poor diction. Unfortunately, there is no narration shut-off so you must mute the TV and lose the train sounds too.

Additional remarks by Chris Miller:
Narration: Way too much!
Would kids enjoy this? Maybe.
Image quality: Excellent!
DVD Value: Seemed a little high, but not too bad.
Recommend to others? Not unless they REALLY were interested in the subject matter.
