For over 150 years Union Pacific's transcontinental main line has played a key roll in the growth and prosperity of the nation. Since the driving of the golden spike at Promontory, Utah, the prairies of southern Wyoming have been alive with the humming of steel wheels.

7idea Productions takes you on a tour of Union Pacific's Rawlins and Laramie Subdivisions between Green River and Laramie. This rarely visited portion of the Overland Route sees over fifty trains per day. The double track main line follows the route of the Overland Stage crossing the Continental Divide three times through Wyoming's Great Divide Basin.

We will begin at historic Green River and head east for 250 miles. Watch coal being delivered to the Jim Bridger Power Plant and its origin at the Black Butte Mine. Then we cross over the Continental Divide to Wamsutter, then again at Creston and Hadsell before arriving at Rawlins. Entering the Laramie Sub, we will continue east passing the refinery at Sinclair and around the northeast side of the Medicine Bow Mountains before arriving at Laramie. This is two-and-one-half hours of great main line action over a portion of UP's original stomping grounds! Join us now as we head East to Laramie!

Just received latest 7th Idea program. Pretty much, as I expected, Great photography and scene selections. Many of this producers programs, are like a National Geographic programs, covering a area of the country, to get an idea, if one would desire to visit location. Motive power consist of mostly GE wide cabs, even though, many trains do have, SD70ace's in the lead. I counted, four trains, with SD70M's, in the lead. These units, seem to be far less, than just, five years ago. If you want to see SD90Macs, SD59MX's or the few SD60M's still left, You will need to travel to Central California, or Illinois, away from the Mainlines out West. A few Heritage units do show up in this program. The shots of Green River, Rawlings and Medicine Bow are Highlights. Overall, a relaxing program

I have purchased virtually all of 7idea's releases, and I was certainly not disappointed with this one! As always, the clarity and overall videography are superb, and Aaron utilizes excellent angles to really bring out the vastness and desolation of this area, coupled with beautiful vistas and sunsets. He covers the areas in excellent detail, with informative narration. As with all of his releases, I would highly recommend this dvd.

I am a big big big Union Pacific fan. I have always wanted to see this territory featured on a video program. This is not inherited UP but pure UP!! Its always great to see the Overland Route in an unfamiliar area. Fantastic coverage. This producer has gotten much territory already but happily there are many many sections of track on the UP (pure or unpure) that have yet to be covered so this viewer is jumping up and down with glee anticipating these programs. Other than Canadian sections of railroad, the UP should keep this producer busy for many years to come.
