Interesting video full of Southern Pacific´s diesel. It has helped me to improve the atmosphere and the time frame of my layout as well as know what locomotives were working in the Espee in the second half of the sixties.
Additional comments:
Narration: Just enough.
Would kids enjoy this? I doubt it.
Image quality: Good.
Value: Seemed a little high.

Charles Smiley videos are an interesting look at days gone by in the earlier years of diesel. What we basically see in this video is a lot of Alco's, EMD's, GE's, and some Train Master's to add interest. Most locations are in California, the San Francisco Bay region, Los Angeles and Cajon, Tehachapi, etc... It's a good over all presentation of Southern Pacific in it's glory years. For anyone who loves the early years of diesels, this is a great video. Like all Charles Smiley videos on one particular railroad, there is an overlap from other Charles Smiley videos, so if you have other Southern Pacific productions, You will see some scenes that are on more than one video. I do recommend this video to rail fans as I am pleased to have it in my collection.
