D-Day Films Click to enlargeNote: Cover image may differ from actual product This show consists of 3 Military Films complete with sound. All are black and white. First is D-Day Convoy, which shows a lot of the preparations of the soldiers, and equipment at the various locations in England, as well as Airborne Troops and the ships. Then we see the convoy, and the paratroopers take off, as well as shelling, and some scenes of the actual landings on the beach in Normandy. "Phantom Harbor" is a unique film that describes the portable harbor that was brought over to install making a port at Normandy for the resupply of the troops. There were two such harbors built, one for the British, and one for the Americans. See what happened when a major storm showed up!!! Lastly, but surely not least is a neat film that shows Air actions over Europe during May and June some of it related directly to the June invasion. There are fighter battles, and some bomber runs, including the fairly new B26 bombers in action. Once again this has sound and is Black and White. These are three films that you might not normally see that are related to D-Day. |
