"La Trochita" is as endearing to this nation as the Rio Grande narrow gauge is to America. Now in its 101st year, this will likely be the last excursion to operate over nearly the entire 251 mile line. Ride a variety of 2 1/2 gauge Henschel and Baldwin 2-8-2s - all delivered in 1922 - pulling no fewer than three different trains. The derailment occurred on day 5 of a planned 6 day outing. Also ride overnight Tren Patagonico, a faster day train, then visit numerous points of interest.
