This really is a must have. A great history of the Conrail with lots of footage from its pedecesors. The narration is informative, not "here's a train at the bridge" (no kidding!) Great to see Big Blue in action, but Big Blue was more than Pennsylvania. Not enough attention paid to the western end of Conrail. Ohio, Indiana, Illinois. But overall, a very good video. Well done. Conrail Hall of Fame DVD 2+ Hours! Trainmanjeff (Orlando FL) on 2011-10-11 05:06:09.

This is another high quality Charles Smiley production. I usually get any of his new releases as they are well produced and very entertaining. For my model railraod purposes, they are great references for motive power and freight cars of the beginnings of Conrail in the late 70's right up to the end in the late '90's. Great DVD and a great addition! However, some information was left out including that Conrail owned the ports and properties in New York and New Jersey(intermodal) and Conrail also absorbed the Boston and Albany which gave them a connection into Boston, MA and almost purchased the Provdience and Worcester in the alte 80's. I feel this should have been included. Conrail, even without the purchase of the Cotton Belt still could have been independent due that CSX and NS did not have direct routes to Boston and New York.
