Volume 2 of Classic Chicago and North Western features Fred Crissey's footage from 1977 to 1983. The program begins with C&NW's branch line between Ames and Des Moines Iowa.
Then it is off to the main line from Blair, Nebraska to Glen Ellyn, Illinois. You will see fast freights along with several scenes of C&NW steam locomotive number 1385. This train was captured running an excursion from Omaha, Nebraska to Ames, Iowa.

Next, Fred captures movements on the ex Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha route between Merrillan, Wisconsin and California Junction, Iowa. Highlights on this line include the St. Croix River Bridge and trains climbing Knapp Hill in Wisconsin.

Finally, we view trains on the line between Escanaba, Michigan and Green Bay, Wisconsin. It is on this route that ore and freight trains operated with ALCO C-628's. You will be in awe when watching these ALCO monsters in use!
