7idea has hit it out of the park with this one! Amazingly incredible Canadian scenery, with a great variety of trains, shot in many types of weather. While I was somewhat disappointed with Aaron's last Canadian dvd (Thompson Canyon), due to too many long-distance shots, he has returned trackside and brings us close to the action in the beautiful Jasper National Park. As is consistent with 7idea, the videography is superb (the lighting and shadows of the mountain-vista shots are fantastic even without trains!) and includes just enough narration. A definite "must have" for followers of 7idea! Canadas Yellowhead Pass DVD dmacleo (Etna ME US) on 2018-02-16 12:17:09.

Another great DVD for 7 Idea Productions. Fantastic photography in Blu Ray, splendid rich colors, camera work is amazing as is the scenery, narration is the best, informative and interesting. All types of CN trains are seen from Double Stacks, Manifest Freights, Unit Grain and Potash. Via coverage is great with the trans-con Canadian seen at various locations at different times of the year, the Via "Skeena" train is covered nicely. CN's latest power is everywhere with SD70M-2's to the latest GE Tier 4 Gevo's all mixed with CN's older power. Its all here in the latest DVD from 7 Idea covering rail action in British Columbia. A+++++ (Must Have) Canadas Yellowhead Pass DVD Marion Charley Mann (Little Mountain SC US) on 2017-07-02 13:52:04.

Beautiful Scenery Abounds, and razor sharp in Bluray, however, if this program would have been shot in 2008, it would have been much more interesting, since CN ran it's Cowl units on most of their transcon trains, during this time period. Highball's Yellowhead Pass program is much more enjoyable from a motive power standpoint, if it could have been shot with today's HD cameras, it would probably been the ultimate train video. In this program, however, there is one shot of a SD60F trailing close up departing and one quick passing shot of a C40-8M, otherwise mostly GE Widecabs, which will be around for decades. Scenery remains constant, but as we all know, motive power changes. A terrible missed opportunity. |
