Enjoy the view from the locomotive on a rare daylight freight train over Colorado's beautiful La Veta Pass.
Long considered the D&RGW's "hidden" mountain pass due to mostly night trains for the last 50 years.
In Part 1 Sierra to La Veta, you enjoy the climb up and over La Veta, with 2.5 percent grades climbing and 3 percent grades going back down. The scenerey is spectacular, and the railroading is too!.
In Part 2, La Veta to Near Ft. Garalnd, ride the head end of a light unit move from La Veta to near Ft. Garland over Colorado's long hidden La Veta Pass. If you have part one, you'll want this part as well, because the scenery is great in either direction!
As a special bonus, you'll also be on board for the arrival into Alamosa!.
Shot in High Definition Widescreen.
Widescreen: Formatted to fit the wide screen (16:9)televisions. This will play on a standard television in "letterbox" format, with the full width of the frame, and black at the top and bottom.
The widescreen version will work now, on your standard TV, and in the future, on a widescreen TV if you don't yet have one.

I enjoyed it, great scenery, just like being there in person. My only complaint, more camera angles rather than straight ahead all the time. Would like to do trip if opportunity arises.
Additional comments:
Narration: Just enough.
Would kids enjoy this? Maybe.
Image quality: Good.
Recommend? Yes.

I enjoyed this DVD very much. Scenery was great and cab chatter was interesting. Good color and sound and very little camera movement.
