The Baltimore on Ohio's main lines split at Point of Rocks Maryland with one line running to Baltimore and the other to Washington DC. From there West the line passed through the major yard at Brunswick, Maryland and on to historic Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Here the line split again, one branch to Martinsburg, West Virginia then on to Cumberland over Sand Patch to Pittsburgh. The other went to Winchester, West Virginia.
