Go deep into the valleys of eastern Kentucky, western Virginia, and eastern Tennessee as Rich Scheid and the Green Frog cameras follows the Kingsport line of CSX--formerly the Clinchfield Railroad. Enjoy real mountain railroading as CSX trains, many of them behind GE and EMD alternating current locomotives, move relentlessly through the Blue Ridge Mountains of the three states. Helper service abounds! We start at Elkhorn City, the former northern terminus of the Clinchfield, and follow the line south through the fall colors past the Pool Point Trestle and through Clinchco, Fremont, Allen, Dante, St. Paul, Frisco, Kingsport and Johnson City to Erwin. Norfolk Southern also runs through the region, and we also see these thoroughbred trains in action.
