It's hard to believe this was shot almost 30 years ago! The image quality is very good for the era. The Blu-ray version isn't like current razor sharp video, but I was impressed.<br><br>Especially loved the SP Rotaries over Donner. Enjoyed the video very much.

In this long-awaited volume of the "Best Of..." Series, there are a bunch of steam & diesel related activities in Western America that was narrated by Jim Knight. The segments shown in order are: The Reunion of Union Pacific E-units 949, 951, & B Unit 963 heading from Las Vegas to Los Angeles & return in August of that year, Nevada Northern 40 on a Winter Special from Ely to Keystone & Back in Either January or February, the Debut of the Brand New SD70Ms on Southern Pacific's California Coastline, Sierra Railway's 1891 Built 10-Wheeler Number 3 on a Freight Special from Jamestown to Chinese Grade with a Cab Ride on the Hollywood Railroad, The Long Gone but not Forgotten Ringilng Brothers Circus Train on SP's Beaumont Hill Line with some Cotton Belt Power Included, Superbowl 27 with Burlington Northern 3 in San Bernardino & LAUPT, & another one with a UP SD60M & a Dash 8-40CW while going to the game plus Metrolink & Amtrak with Wild West Robbers taking over, Highlights from "Rio Grande Rotary '93" on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad which is yet to be converted to both DVD & Blu-Ray in the Future, as other producers like The Late Greg Scholl (who later chartered a freight special after the Snowplow operations), Mark 1 Video, & Spinnaker/Machines of Iron were also there in early May as well. Months Prior to the C&TS' 1993 season, the Chama to Antonito line did a week-long freight special that was chartered by John Craft. SP 2472 from the CalTrain Depot in San Jose to LAUPT & Back on the special Earth Train in September with mostly D&RGW Coaches throughout the trip, as well as some diesel helpers, Santa Fe's Business Car Specials with 554 & 571 in charge & later swapped with 500 & 549, plus 576 (referenced to a Nashville Chattanooga & St. Louis 4-8-4 in Tennessee) & 536 also in September. On Cajon Pass, 531 is making a wild smoke show due to engine troubles, plus Amtrak's since-discontinued Desert Wind, Cleaning & Repairing the Track at Avalanche at San Clemente alongside the Pacific Ocean in late February & Early March. Note that one of the Blue & Yellow AT&SF diesels are numbered to a reference of one of the 8 surviving Union Pacific Big Boys: 4018 in Texas that is, & Highlights from "The Battle For Donner Pass". The Date of filming the Roseville to Reno line is on February 22, 1993, then the program ends with removing the original track 1 the Following December of '93. The Turntable has since been donated to Sacramento. Will there ever be some upcoming Video Rails titles that have also be yet converted to Both DVD & Blu-Ray in the Future: 3985 Steam Express 1982, China Steam 1990 Parts 1 & 2, Santa Fe 3751 the real return to steam, the V.R. version of the Montana Rail Link with the Livingston Rebuild Center, Rio Grande Steam 1992, Rio Grande Work Train 1981, SP Daylight 4449 to Sacramento in 1981, San Jose NRHS Convention, etc? Only Time Would Tell.
