BNSF's Dickinson Sub runs from Glendive, Montana to Dickinson, North Dakota on the old Northern Pacific main line. Traffic is mostly unit coal trains to and from the Powder River coal basin, led by SD70MAC's, SD70ACe's and GE's new ES44's. Some older power can be seen, including a couple of warbonnets. The line runs through the North Dakota Badlands, which provide interesting backgrounds for the hard working trains.

A good video. The territory covered is well done. With some meets, and plenty of scenery of the region in the Badlands, it made for a good combination. We found that there was a surprise or 2 along the way, things no expected like the paint scheme of an engine that we have never seen before. We enjoyed the video and recommend it to other railfans, and even to non-railfans for the scenic value.

I really enjoyed watching this DVD. The video footage was quite good, without the multiple trains from the same angle shots as seen in some other programs. This was surprising a very good DVD from Highball. For anybody who is a BNSF and especially a coal train fan, this is the DVD for you.
