Here once again is Walt Berko at his best with a ride in the cab on the Old New Haven Railroad shoreline from New Haven to Boston and in the cab no less. The trip is very nice as you ride along this historic line. There is no narration to speak of other than the conversation in the cab between Berko and the engineer which makes this video much better in that respect. This, plus the other part in this series are truly worth buying.

Additional remarks by boxcarmike:
Narration: There was no narration.
Would kids enjoy this? Maybe.
Image quality: Excellent!
DVD Value: Good Value
Recommend to others? Definitely.

The area covered in this DVD has nice variety. Image quality was not the greatest but the subject matter made up for it.

Additional remarks by John:
Narration: Just enough.
Would kids enjoy this? I doubt it.
Image quality: A little rough around the edges.
DVD Value: Seemed a little high, but not too bad.
Recommend to others? Definitely.

This is a good quality DVD. It was been done many years ago. The scenery is good and has good nararation. May not be something kids would like, but I think real rail fans would enjoy this.

Its hard to imagine that 35 years ago in 1984, Walt Berko was visiting New England, as many of these scenes are 100% historic. Since the F40s on Amtrak are a thing of the past, as well as the electrified extension to Bostons South Station. Multiple meets are shown and it also includes some station stops along the way. But as a New England resident myself, itll still be a unique experience to see what it was like before todays Acela Express, and of course the added platforms from Connecticut & Massachusetts own commuter trains. After all, if you cant afford a trip onboard for real, why not bring the railroad to the people who cant afford to go on an adventure on the rails?

Additional remarks by Steamboy:
Narration: Could have used more.
Would kids enjoy this? Yes.
Image quality: Good.
DVD Value:: Fair.
Recommend to others? Yes.
