A Ride on Manchester's Metrolink
In North America, Edmonton and San Diego were each the first to reinstitute light-rail in their respective countries, thus beginning a trend. In the United Kingdom the first was Manchester. As with Edmonton and San Diego, former railways became part of their new systems. Manchester linked two former railways with street trackage in the core of the city and in the process connected two major railway stations. The line features frequent service and fans will enjoy the sounds produced by air brakes and bolted rail. This programs in 1 hour, 13 minutes long and consists primarily of a cab ride from Altrincham to Bury and another from Victory to Piccadilly. There are many run-past sequences and historical information is included.
