Like the first 2 volumes, the majority of this footage was shot by Brady Sanker. Surprisingly enough, this is the first time that Greg's Brother Randy Scholl came back for helping out with the additional footage, which was also the the first time we saw Randy's girl (Vicky Scholl) as a production assistant in the closing credits. Epilogue after the 2016 season: On Saturday January 6, 2017, 611 made an unannounced one-way move from Roanoke to Spencer for not only the upcoming trips, but also to hibernate in the winter cold. 611 Trilogy Volume 3 DVD chris collins (fletcher north carolina) on 2019-11-13 22:01:15.

611 trilogy vol.3 (the last video of the trilogy series) follows n&w 611 on the greensboro to roanoke trips in late apirl 2016 as she operates these trips with some nice cool weather in the spring with lots of great locations that gives the train a nice backdrop the next part of the video than follows 611 on the Manassas to front royal trips there's quite a few locations of the line and some of the local horse also provide a great scene with the train overall these videos were pretty well (as i mentioned in my review of the first vol) now i mean no disrespect to greg scholl for this saying the only downfall i have is i wish they recorded the first trips of the 2016 season (the first with the apirl 9th trip form spencer to lynchburg than the apirl 10th trip from spencer to ashville especially the ashville trip) these videos show 611 ruining solo with no diesel helpers (which the apirl 9th and 10th trips had diesel helpers which were ns 8099 the southern heritage unit and southern 6133 which is owned by the nc transportation museum and used on the museum's train rides) the only again i don't mean no disrespect to greg scholl with that statement these videos turned out really good (i think these are right up there with the reborn videos from steam train videos covering this beautiful locomotive) 611 Trilogy Volume 3 DVD ecarfar (Long Island, NY) on 2022-06-27 10:26:53.
Not a review of the content of the video (because I've never seen it) but more of the quality of the disc. I purchased all three of the 611 Trilogy discs in Blu-Ray format along with another Greg Scholl Blu Ray video and NONE of them play on ANY of the four Blu Ray players in my house. A couple of them start but the video and sound break up within a few seconds and one of them actually freezes my player where I have to pull the plug to get it to reset. None of them are watchable at all. I brought this up to Greg Scholl himself via email and mentioned he might have a problem with his Blu Ray transfers and he was no help at all, telling me that he received no other complaints. I found that incredibly hard to believe since every other Blu Ray disc I've played has never had a problem. I even offered to send them to him for inspection, at my own expense, but he was insinuating they might me counterfeit and didn't want to be bothered. I'm stuck with $100+ of worthless plastic discs. Don't buy the Blu Rays, get the DVD's instead. I will not be adding any other Greg Scholl videos to my vast collection of railroad related DVDs.... |
