This now hard to believe its already 10 year old dvd features 4449s first couple days of the big transcontinental journey from its home base in the Pacific Northwest, to the steam railroading institute for a big fundraiser held for Pere Marquette 1225s FRA inspection. The scenery through the Columbia river gorge was decent, as well as some BNSF freights are also included. Of course 4449s whistle was absolutely incredible to hear back then. Thankfully this 10 year old DVD was recorded way before Amtraks worst president Dick Anderson Created the No Steam Giants Allowed policy meaning that 611, 261, 3751, 765, 2926, 4501, 630, 700, And of course 4449 would Never operate on fast mainlines only, as they have no choice but to let their fireboxes, flues, and tubes be rusty again. Oh yes, and the special private cars are incredible to look at too before Anderson creates the ban on private car moves on Amtrak as well.
