In 2024, Reading & Northern 4-8-4 #2102 pulled her first trips over the Lehigh Line after two years of operating exclusively on the southern half of the railroad (between Reading and Jim Thorpe). Originally the Lehigh Valley mainline, the Lehigh Line traverses the Lehigh Gorge before climbing Penobscot Mountain and then dropping down to the Susquehanna River at Pittston.
The first trip in June ran from Nesquehoning to Tunkhannock - a 160-mile roundtrip - the T-l's longest excursion on the R&N. In August, a subsequent trip ran from Nesquehoning to Pittston. The following year #2102 operated the same two Iron Horse Rambles over the Lehigh Line. This program covers the 2024 Tunkhannock Ramble, the 2025 Pittston Ramble, and one of the Autumn Leaf Excursions from Reading to Jim Thorpe in October of 2024. All three trips are chronicled with a combination of trackside rubys and action filmed inside the locomotive's cab.
