Four railroad lines funnel traffic in and out of the Los Angeles basin via Cajon Pass. It is the busiest railroad mountain crossing in the United States. The 14 miles of the West Grade host legendary train watching spots: Blue Cut, Sullivan's Curve, Mormon Rocks, Alray, Hill 582 and Summit. See trains at these locations and more.
See BNSF and UP push train after train through the pass and look for rare visitors to the pass: Snow and Big Boy 4014! This is exciting big-time railroading!

While Cajon Pass has been covered extensively in other dvd's, if you are a fan of the area, or of mountain railroading, you should enjoy this release. Good coverage, including some snow-shots, of the west side of the Pass, from Blue Cut to Summit. Multiple train-meets featuring, primarily, the "usual suspects" of motive-power for BNSF and UP. A brief appearance of UP's steam engine 4014 is also featured.
Videography is good, and I was pleasantly surprised to see Peter Crook (former owner/operator of Highball Productions) behind the camera. Extensive footage is shown from the area surrounding Mormon Rocks, Sullivan's Curve (with several meets), Hill 582, and Silverwood. And while I would have preferred to see a bit more footage of the rolling stock of the featured-trains, overall I am happy with this purchase.

Welcome back Pentrex. The quality I remember from years past. And now in BluRay! I like to follow the locations on Google Earth to see what shots the videographer was taking.
