Vignettes of the WESTERN MARYLAND - Volume 1 follows this scenic railway from its eastern terminus in Baltimore, MD to Elkins WV and Connellsville, PA from 1940 until the verge of the Chessie System takeover in 1975. Locations visited include the Baltimore area, Emory Grove, Ohio Pyle, Hagerstown, Cumberland, Deal, Bowest, Dunbar, Ridgeley, Thurmont, Williamsport, Meyersdale, Parsons, and Elkins. Locomotives featured include Fs, Hi-and lo-nose Geeps, RS3's, BL2s, FAs, SD40s, and various models from run-through partners P&WV, N&W, and Reading. K-1 and K-2 4-6-2s are seen pulling classic WM passenger trains near Baltimore and Thurmont. 60 minutes, Sound with narration, Color and Black and White, DVD-R format
