Vignettes of the BURLINGTON NORTHERN -Volume 1 recounts the final four years of the BN before its inclusion into BNSF. It is seen from 1992 to July 1996 at three major locations around the system...in the St Paul, MN area at Newport, Hoffman Ave and Westminster...along the old Northern Pacific in the Valley City, ND area...and along the former CB&Q at Bushnell, Illinois. The program concludes with an "Out-of-bounds" segment where BN power is seen in pool service on the Grand Trunk Western and Conrail. Motive power ranges from early Geeps to Wide-nose SD60's, and many scenes feature the cars of the train...a popular feature with modelers and freight car fans! Neighboring roads Soo Line and Toledo, Peoria and Western are seen briefly, as well as Chicago Northwestern and Union Pacific. So join us as we recall the last four years of the 'Mean Green Machine', and enjoy Freight, Intermodal, and Coal trains in Vignettes of the Burlington Northern - Volume 1.
