Review of Union Pacific and Rio Grande in the 1980s DVD

Cinematographer Fred Crissey takes us on a tour of the Union Pacific and the Rio Grande in the 1980's in the states of Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming and Idaho. From the Midwest, through the High Plaines and up through the Mountain Passes, these two railroads showcase classic locomotives to put on a spectacular show.
View Union Pacific freight trains passing through rolling prairies and farmlands and climbing mountain grades. Even more unique is UP's steam locomotive number 844, which makes its appearance among the beautiful scenery. View a piece of history as you see this old steam locomotive with its other number - 8444! And on top of that, Challenger number 3985 pulls an excursion and we see several DD40X locomotives on freight trains!
Rounding out the show are scenes of the famous Denver and Rio Grande Western as the locomotives traverse the majestic mountains of Colorado on the Tennessee Pass line.
