Review of Welsh Highland Story DVD

The re-birth of the Welsh Highland Railway in modern times is a great story of hard work leading to preservation success. This 1870s narrow gauge line was almost doomed from the start and eventually abandoned and scrapped. Against all odds, the line was rebuilt and extended in the process to Caernarfon. New locos and rolling stock were imported as well as locally sourced. Historic and contemporary footage explains the heroic efforts and gives us an inside view into the organizational, financial, regulatory and mechanical issues surrounding such a successful venture. This will appeal to tourists and railfans who will see here how to get things done. Published in the UK by Railfilms, distributed in the USA by Goodheart Productions.
