A couple of days after the conclusion of the Victorian Iron Horse Roundup, Rio Grande Southern 4-6-0 #20 operated it's first excursion on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad - a doubleheader with K-27 2-8-2 #463 masquerading as Rio Grande Southern #455. This program begins with that August 31st doubleheader, then chronicles a month of special excursions with #20 and the other two resident Victorian locomotives on the C&TS: D&RG 4-6-0 #168 and D&RG 2-8-0 #425 (more commonly known as Denver & Rio Grande Western #315).
While Eureka and Glenbrook were the stars of the August Roundup (covered on Victorian Iron Horses on the C&TS - Vol. 1), RGS #20 was the main attraction in September and October. The 1899-built 4-6-0 was visiting from the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden - it's first trip away from the museum since it was returned to steam in 2020. This program covers all of #20's runs except a September 5th trip from Antonito to Big Horn.
