Join us for a cross-country trip "In Search of Steam" as we take a look at 7 different locomotives that operated in 2019. Our first stop is Owosso, Michigan in January where Pere Marquette 2-8-4 #1225 put on a spectacular show during a 2-day Lerro Productions charter.
Next we'll travel to Garibaldi, Oregon in March for a Trains Magazine photo special on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad featuring recently restored 2-4-4-2 "Skookum". One of the smallest standard gauge articulated locomotives ever built. Then in May we'll see one of the largest, as Union Pacific "Big Boy" 4-8-84 #4014 climbed the legendary Wasatch grade from Ogden, Utah to Evanston, Wyoming with 4-8-4 #844.
In August we'll visit the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, where 2-8-2 #488 pulled a sunset dinner train from Chama, New Mexico to 10,015-foot C |
