This program contains two movies produced by the Norfolk & Western Railway Company. The first movie, "Operation Fast Freight" (produced about 1949) describes how the N&W handles priority freight trains and shows lots of action throughout the system. The second movie "The Modern Coal Burning Steam Locomotive" (produced about 1940) describes operation and maintenance of the N&W steam fleet as well as construction of the "J" class locomotive. We end the program with a look at the Norfolk Southern (which absorbed the N&W) operating on the former N&W in Virginia. 60 Minutes - Color - Sound
This program covers non-stop run-by freight and passenger train action on Norfolk Southern's Lines in Pennsylvania just after the takeover. The entire program was shot and narrated by Tim Hosey. ONE HOUR-COLOR-SOUND |
