Review of Grand Central An American Treasure DVD (2013) - OUT OF PRINT LIMITED STOCK

 3 of 5 (3)
The story of the world's largest train terminal is told by historians, railroaders, and architects. With roughly 650 weekday train arrivals and departures on 44 platforms, Grand Central still functions smoothly after a century of operation. Every day 750,000 people come to the terminal. Of these, 200,000 are just visitors. In this video you can be one of those visitors to Grand Central: An American Treasure.

It was 10 years in the making but well worth the wait. February 1st 1913 began a new chapter in American passenger railroading when Grand Central Terminal opened the doors to its first century of service.

Former New York Mayor Ed Koch and others give an in-depth look and behind the scenes tour of Grand Central's Beaux-Arts splendor. Gabrielle Schubert, directory of the New York Transit Museum, notes that "This building is an incredible and unique example of a perfect amalgam of architecture, art, and engineering."

Gateway to a city. Gateway to a continental. G
