Review of Railfanning the Appalachian Region Volume 1 DVD

 3.5 of 5 (2)
The Appalachian region has some of the most scenic and treacherous railroad routes on the east coast.

In June of 1979, Jonathan Reck and friends made the trek to Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia and North Carolina to railfan the busy operations of the Southern, RF&P, L&N, Clinchfield and other railroads.

Along the way, we'll view varied motive power and train consists as they travel through Neabsco Bay – Rockwood – Harriman Jct – Knoxville – Johnson City – Charlottesville and more.

Amtrak, Auto Trains and the Texas & Pacific #610 also make guest appearances

Filmed by Jonathan Reck on Super 8mm sound film
