Review of Nickel Plate Road Steam in the 1950s

Railfan and amateur historian Howard W. Ameling joins fellow railfan and professional railroader Lee Avis to bring us Nickel Plate steam from the 1950s. Rare film footage now brought to you edited and transferred to DVD! This is the NYC&StL shot around Bluffton. We'll see mainline running with 700 & 800 class 2-8-4 Berks and other wheel arrangements. The coverage of engine servicing areas includes aerial footage of the roundhouse and coaling tower.

See many different steam engines, with a couple first generation diesels. Shot on silent, B&W 8mm film. Limited narration and backed with music.
