Review of B&O Western Maryland Steam in the 1950s

Lee Avis shot the B&O between Cumberland and Sand Patch in the 1950s. The WM footage comes from the Cumberland area. This is rare footage now brought to you edited and professionally transferred to DVD. Watch heavy B&O coal and freight drags pulled and pushed by brawny 2-8-8-4 EM-1 class engines and double-headed S-1 class 2-10-2 pushers. Q-4 class 2-8-2s and T-3 class 4-8-2s are also seen along with the Cumberland engine servicing facility. On the WM the focus is on Maryland Jct. (Ridgely, WV) and the servicing facility.

We also see passenger traffic behind a K-2 class Pacific and H class 2-8-0s in the Narrows and 2-10-2s on Helmstetter's Curve. 8mm color and B&W film, silent with music. No narration/sound.
