Review of To Chicago By Steam The 1993 NRHS Convention DVD

This is big time steam! UP 3985, Frisco 1522, Southern 4501, N&W 1218, N&W 611, NKP 587 and NKP 765 are all here! Incoming coverage includes Southern 2-8-2 4501, Norfolk & Western 2-6-6-4 1218, Norfolk & Western class J 611 on the "Independence Limited" from Kingsport to Fort Wayne, and then double-headed NKP 2-8-2 587 and NKP 2-8-4 765 Fort Wayne to Chicago. Convention coverage includes NKP 587 & 765 double-head Chicago to Argos on the old NKP mainline.

See the trip to the Illinois Railroad Museum with Frisco 2-10-0 Decapod 1530 plus a Nebraska Zephyr set, a Milwaukee Road F-Unit, BN SD-9 and the South Shore Electroliner. All are operated. Next is Union Pacific 4-6-6-4 3985 Chicago To Findlay Junction. It is wonderful steam action with this "City Streamliner" look-alike, with six domes! Our camera even goes in the cab of the mighty Challenger for some exciting footage.
