This exciting program offers a nostalgic look at the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad as filmed by a number of railfan photographers from the early 1950s to the late 1950s. An interesting variety of diesel and electric locomotives are featured in a number of colorful paint schemes.
You'll tour the Main Line from Grand Central Station to Boston, observe freight action on the Bay Ridge Branch, take a cab ride over the Hell Gate Bridge, and visit the engine terminal at New Haven. As a special bonus, you'll ride the main line in 1937 and see trains of the legendary New York, Westchester & Boston interurban line along the way! A fully synchronized soundtrack adds incredible realism to the originally-silent film! Locomotives featured include:
Electrics: EP-2, EP-3, EP-4, EP-5, EF-3, EF-5, plus MU passenger trains. Diesels: Alco FA, FB, PA, RS3, RS11, DL-109; EMD FL9, GP9; GE U25B; F-M CPA-24-5 C-Liners, Talgo Train with D-12-42 Speed Merchant Units. RDCs and Roger Wil |
