Review of The Kantner Collection DVD

 5 of 5 (1)
The Kantner collection is a culmination of 8mm railroad films photographed by the brothers Arch and Bruce Kantner of Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania.

The collection highlights the rarely photographed coal region railroad operations with visits to capture the main line action in Pennsylvania and the Virginias from the early 1950s into the beginning of Conrail.

The first volume covers the Reading coal and passenger service and the PRR ore trains and locals in Schuylkill County, operations on the Lehigh Valley and CNJ in the Lehigh River gorge, the PRR steam to diesel transition in western PA, the Lackawanna detour trains and more in the early to mid 1950s.

Narrated with commentary by Mike Bednar. Color and synchronized sounds; approx 66 minutes.
