Volume 1 follows this fascinating railroad from its northern terminus in Kansas City, MO through Shreveport, LA to DeQuincy, where it splits to reach the Gulf of Mexico at Lake Charles, LA and Port Arthur, TX. On its way to the gulf, the KCS negotiates terrain ranging from mountains to coastal plains. Locations visited include Kansas City, Pittsburg, Joplin, Heavener, Texarkana, Shreveport, Beaumont, Port Arthur, Mossville Yard near Lake Charles, and more! Videotaped over a 2-year period, the KCS's modern fleet of EMD diesels are joined by units from the recently acquired Mid-South, as well as power from the UP, SP, and ATSF. 105 minutes, Color and audio, DVD-R format.
