This video features cab rides in both of the big engines on the Ohio Central, but then continues with more scenes shot trackside for additional runbys and action shots. We begin with a day in Sugarcreek on June 7, 2002 with scenes of ex-Canadian Pacific 4-6-2 on the Sugarcreek to Baltic excursions. We shoot lineside runbys, then later in the day get a cab ride in the engine to Baltic, where the engine runs around the train to pull the train back northward tender-first.
The very next day, June 8, 2002 we are in Dennison for a run, that begins with ex-Grand Trunk Railroad 4-8-4 6325. Owner Jerry Jacobson was there at the station, and I spoke to him briefly just before the trip departed. I asked him if someday I could get a ride in the engine, and he said
“Sure Greg, how about right nowâ€. So an unexpected cab ride from Dennison took place to a runby location west toward Morgan Run. We get several fine views inside the cab, as well as shooting outside the doorway |
