During several visits to Pennsylvania between 2013 and 2022, we spent numerous days filming on two of the most famous grades in the state: Norfolk Southern's former Pennsylvania Railroad line between Altoona and Cassandra, and CSX's former B&O line over Sand Patch out of Cumberland, Maryland.
