The Twin Cities hotspot for railfanning is Dayton's Bluff in St. Paul, Minnesota. This location is known for its diversity of trains, scenery, and fabulous skyline that makes this capitol city so unique. Both the Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Canadian Pacific railroads operate on Dayton's Bluff tracks. Other railroads use the tracks here to run through or interchange. Some of the trains you'll see using the tracks include the Union Pacific, I&M Rail Link, Twin Cities and Western, Minnesota Commercial and Amtrak.
This program will also take you to other key locations in St. Paul. Come along to Short Line Hill, where a TC&W transfer negotiates the grade. You'll also see trains at Westminster, Robert Street Lift Bridge, Park Junction and more.
Many different road names are featured including Chicago and North Western, Santa Fe, CSX, Soo Line and Southern Pacific just to name a few! Enjoy the tour of St. Paul's railroading in "Dayton's Bluff"!
