Review of Tehachapi Remembered by Harvey S. Laner DVD

 5 of 5 (1)
Harvey Laner recorded exciting railroad action through California's Tehachapi Mountains. This program brings together his best work capturing dramatic sights and sounds of the pre-merger period from 1988 to 1996. It was a time when SP scarlet and gray and Santa Fe war bonnets still dominated the Mountain. Harvey narrates the program and describes his transition from 8mm film movies to a progression of video cameras used to capture audio and visual images. Charles Smiley produced this video at the CSP Studio.

Featuring Diesels from:

* SANTA FE
* SOUTHERN PACIFIC/COTTON BELT
* FOREIGN POWER
* LOTS OF BIG EMDs and GEs

Many trains also have multiple manned helpers and cabooses. Learn the story of Union Pacific's constant quest for bigger diesels and more power! DD-40X, DD-35's, and E-Units make the scene! See "Centennials" and "E's" when they were working in real freight and passenger service. These are views of two monumental landmarks at many locations!
