Review of Conrail Over the Berkshires in the Cab - Through a Trainmans Eyes DVD

Conrail Over the Berkshires (in the Cab!) Through a Trainman's Eyes

Gary Gurske worked as a Conrail trainman on the Boston & Albany line. His job called for him to ride from Worcester to Selkirk Yard and return. Thus, he made hundreds of runs over the Berkshire Mountains in western Massachusetts. He captured many of those runs with his video camera. We present a compilation of those runs to demonstrate the difficulties for the crews. Rainy, snowy weather or summer heat, the monotony of the work is punctuated by many troubles and tribulations, such as stalled trains, hot journals or pulled drawbars. Throughout them all, the men carry out their work in a safe and professional manner. Running time: 100 minutes, Maps, Narration Copyright 2011, A & R Systems, Inc.
