Review of Cavalcade of Steam DVD

If you like steam locomotives, then this is the program for you! First, visit Pennsylvania's famous Strasburg Railroad, where beautifully restored steam locomotives haul over 100,000 passengers a year through Amish Country. You'll get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to get the locomotives ready, from a cold boiler, all the way to backing onto the train. Then enjoy the action as the trains pass through the beautiful Pennsylvania countryside.

Next, it's off to scenic Colorado & New Mexico where the steam locomotives of the Cumbres & Toltec battle the steep Rocky Mountains every day. You'll see trains traversing the entire line from Chama, New Mexico to Antonito, Colorado, climbing over 10,015 foot Cumbres Pass in the process. With heavy trains and stiff grades, there is plenty of stack talk for the steam locomotive fan here!

This is a program that you'll want to watch for years to come. Running time 71 minutes. DVD features chapter menus, and narration on/off.
