Review of Sand Patch Part 1 East Slope Cumberland MD to Sand Patch DVD

"Sand Patch: Part 1 - East Slope " is our 6th video following the Old B&O Railroad and surveys another historic grade climbing out of Cumberland, MD. Sand Patch Grade deserves really serious attention. The original P&C or Pittsburgh and Connellsville Railroad sports one of the most famous climbs in the East. Heavy climbing begins at Hyndman, PA then continues through Maxwell Brickworks, Fairhope Crossing, and Falls Cut Tunnel. Climbing continues all the way to the West Side of Sand Patch Tunnel. Other east slope points of interest include Foley Signals, Roddy's Sag, and a horseshoe curve at a place called Mance. There's plenty of action for any railfan; with CSX intermodals, auto racks, mixed freights, coal trains, grain trains and a passenger train. Come with us for another survey of a very old and famous railroad.

Again, we use U.S. Geological Survey Maps to help you understand where the tracks run. This video brings you the awesome sounds of mountain railroa
