The Best of Soo, Volume 2 Shoreham Hill After the Milwaukee Road Merger
Following the Soo/Milwaukee Road merger, the Soo's Twin Cities to Chicago Main was downgraded to a secondary route. The Soo's double track main line through Northeast Minneapolis had been dormant for most of the winter of 1985. On January 11, 1986, the Soo ran a Roseport bound potash extra via Shoreham Hill. Once again, the sounds of classic EMD power would fill the neighborhoods of Northeast Minneapolis! Videographer Bob Rivard covers this classic action from the years 1986 and 1987.
SD-40's, GP-30's, high hood GP-7 & 9's, SW-1200's and Soo Line cabooses in classic Soo Line Red and White colors are abound in this show along with many other locomotive models. Mix in post merger power of Milwaukee Road units and cabooses, and you get a colorful array of locomotives in this program. You will be amazed watching and hearing most of these trains being pushed with helpers ranging from GP-9's to MP- |
