Featuring: COLUMBIA BASIN RAILROAD The Columbia Basin Railroad is a fascinating 86 mile shortline that operates in scenic East Central Washington. CBRW rail operations are based out of Warden, Washington and their weekday locals work north out of this yard to serve industries in the Agricultural Region of the vast Columbia Basin. The state of Washington leads the nation in the production of potatoes and the Columbia Basin Railroad serves several vegetable processing plants and grain elevators. A midday CBRW road freight departs Warden and travels 27 miles across the rolling landscape and down steep coulees and ravines to reach their freight interchange with the BNSF Ry at Connell, Washington. CBRW diesel power consists of exciting 1st generation EMD featuring GP9, SD9 and SD19-1's. Rail footage era 2017 from the camera of Bradley A. Plets.
