Review of Steamfest II 2010 Niles Canyon Railway DVD

On the weekend of March 20th and 21st, 2010, the Niles Canyon Railway and the Pacific Locomotive Association hosted Steamfest II. With four tank engines pulling trains through California's beautiful Niles Canyon, the event was billed as the largest gathering of working steam locomotives in California since Railfair 1999.

The NCRY's Robert Dollar Co. No. 3 and Quincy Railroad Co. No. 2, both 2-6-2Ts, were joined by 0-6-0T Granite Rock No. 10 from the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, and 2-6-2T Mason County Logging Co. No 7 from the Roots of Motive Power collection in Willits, California.

TSG Multimedia's crew was there to cover the entire event, including unpublicized test runs and a quadruple-header on and a Friday, March 19th!

The main event, Saturday, March 20th, featured double-headed run-bys with passenger and freight trains in the morning and afternoon, and a special midday quadruple-headed passenger train!
