Review of Minnesota Shortlines Volume 3 - The Northwest Lines DVD

Featuring... Otter Tail Valley Railroad, Minnesota Northern Railroad, and Northern Plains Railroad
See three fascinating shortlines that travel across the scenic prairies of northwestern Minnesota. PART 1 covers the Otter Tail Valley Railroad that travels 54 miles from Fergus Falls to a connection with the BNSF at Dilworth. This OTVR Line is former Great Northern and BN trackage and their main commodities are grain and coal. PART 2 covers the Minnesota Northern Railroad that runs from Crookston going east to Erskine and then north through Thief River Falls. The MNN powers their trains with several GP9's that look and sound great! PART 3 covers the 388 mile long Northern Plains Railroad that runs from Thief River Falls going west into the Great Plains of northeastern North Dakota. The NPR trains are seen working grain elevators and pulling long trains of grain and sand products. This program's diesel power consists of SW8, SW1500, GP7, GP9, GP18, GP35, GP39-2 and SD40-2.
