Featuring the last years of LTV Steel Mining Railroad to the Cliffs Erie Railroad Finale! The train action includes F9's powering mainline pellet trains from the Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota Taconite Plant to Erie Mining's Dock & Shipping Port on the shores of Lake Superior at Taconite Harbor. Plus, we go on top of the ore dock for an up close look at ore car dumping and ship loading. LTV's mine trains use Alcos and Baldwins to haul crude ore from the pits to the processing plant. GE and DM&IR lease units are seen powering a few pellet trains in the early 2000's. LTV Steel Mining's last pellet train is seen in June of 2001. Then the 2008 Grand Finale as the Cliffs Erie Railroad ran several trains including a A-B-B-B-A set of F9's to haul chips and ore fines from Taconite Harbor back to Hoyt Lakes. Plus, the show finishes with 17 bonus minutes of rare mine train footage from the Doug Buell collection. Rail footage era 1990-2008.
