Review of Alcos on the Quebec Cartier Mining Company DVD

The Cartier Railway is an iron ore hauler and was the last stronghold of big Alco diesel power in North America. The Quebec Cartier Mining Company Railway is located in scenic Quebec, Canada. Their all Alco diesel roster includes models RS18 and the huge 3,600 horsepower C636's & M636's. The diesels are seen in both the Cartiers orange & black and also their new red, blue & silver paint schemes. Train action includes unit trains of iron ore, timber, & freight, plus a work train with a caboose and a company passenger train. The scenery is spectacular as the Cartier travels through a Provincial Park & Wildlife Preserve. The railroad's landscape includes pine forests, mountains with tunnels, rock cuts, cliffs, rivers, lakes, and waterfalls.

The video footage era is June of 2000.
